"Good for you, good for your mental health" is aired live on KTSA-550 AM in San Antonio, TX. Producer Nina Corbett worked on a television pilot, Trial By Fire, produced by NBC and CourtTV. The show will cover high profile court cases. Corbett's segment was on the Andrea Yates story and Postpartum. She invited mothers who have experienced and/or recovered from postpartum mood disorders and who were interested in sharing their stories to come to the show's taping in New York on September 18, 2002.

The Move for Mental Health was a 5K Run/Walk to Raise Awareness. The run/walk was a partnership between the Washington Alliance for the Mentally Ill and Community Psychiatric Clinic, taking place on September 28, 2002, at Sand Point Magnuson Park in Seattle, Washington.

THE MELANIE BLOCKER-STOKES FOUNDATION at 312-225-1310 hosted a Walk To Remember Postpartum Victims on Sunday, September 29, 2002. The walk began at Shedd Aquarium and ended at Chicago Yacht Club in Chicago, Illinois.

The Second Annual NYU Medical Center Symposium on Women’s Reproductive Mental Health was slated for Saturday, October 5, 2002 in New York.
The course was designed for physicians such as psychiatrists, obstetricians, gynecologists, internists, and pediatricians, and health care professionals such as nurse-midwives, social workers and lactation consultants. The course was also open to the general public.

A special Listening to Mothers Forum was held on October 24, 2002, in New York City. More than 400 people were expected to attend the Forum, including media representatives, women of childbearing age, the general public, maternity care providers, and childbirth advocates. Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist Anna Quindlen was be the keynote speaker. The Forum also included voices and dialogue with new mothers, media representatives, caregivers, celebrities, and authors of best-selling books on pregnancy and birth.

Training I: Fundamentals of PPD and Training II: Advanced assessment and treatment strategies were offered in the fall of 2002 for clinicians by Karen Kleiman, M.S.W. at the Postpartum Stress Center.

Karen Kleiman, M.S.W., author of This Isn't What I Expected: Overcoming Postpartum Depression and The Postpartum Husband: Practical Solutions For Living With Postpartum Depression, conducted a clincial training in Maryland on November 6, 2002. Postpartum Mood Disorders: Women, Babies and Depression was a seminar sponsored by the Mental Health Association, Montgomery County, MD. The training was for mental health professionals, offering knowledge of working with clients who are experiencing depression during their pregnancy or postpartum depression.
