| Hello! If you haven't posted in a while, please come visit us! We
miss you! :) I have some great things to tell you about the Online PPD Support Group. Wonderful things are in store for the coming year for our website and our users. Time is running out to enter our giveaway for Women's Moods: What Every Woman Must Know About Hormones, The Brain, and Emotional Health By Deborah Sichel, M.D., and Jeanne Watson Driscoll, M.S., R.N, C.S. (1999 hardcover edition). The deadline is December 14, 2002. Further details can be found at the forums. The biggest news is that we've been trying to find ways to get people together in person for some time. Thanks to a website called MeetUp.com, we're finally on the road to accomplishing this! To meet up with other women in your area, simply sign in and give your zip code. When enough people near you have signed up, you can get together. The hope is that we'll be getting people together across the globe...a sort of "friendship club" for those who have the common bond of postpartum mood disorders. To find out more, visit http://postpartum.meetup.com/ today! I'm in the process of reorganizing parts of the website to make it easier to use. Specifically, I'm going to be working on our resource list. I'll be organizing it by location served (whether it's a small community, an entire state, or an international organization). This will help you find what you need in YOUR area. Also, I want to add as many resources as I can. So, if you operate or know about a support group, a great doctor with a special understanding of postpartum, etc., please pass along the info to me. So far our upcoming events page is looking pretty bare. If you're aware of any upcoming events related to postpartum mood disorders and/or mental health, please let me know. Planning for the Second Annual Online PPD Support Group Conference will soon be underway. In 2002 the Conference was held in the state of Washington. Our next Conference location is up to you...where would YOU like to see our Conference in 2003? Check out our Polling Place forum! On a more personal front, I'm proud to announce that I have been asked to become a coordinator for Postpartum Support International. The organization has been around for many years, and is responsible for much of the progress we've seen over the years in the postpartum arena. They have state coordinators, but I will be their first Online Coordinator! This means I'll be working even harder for YOU, and I couldn't be more honored or thrilled! I hope you'll take the opportunity to become a supporter of Postpartum Support International. They are a very worthy organization. You can help keep the Online PPD Support Group running smoothly by supporting us. There are a few ways to do this.
Thanks for being a part of our online community.
