Happy New Year from the Online PPD Support Group! May 2003 hold
peace, love and joy for you and yours. TIP OF THE MONTH: At the beginning of the year, many of you will make resolutions. There's one resolution I'd like to suggest you all make...put yourself first. So often mothers will put their children, their families, their friends, etc., before their own needs. It's important to learn how to "self-care". You won't do others any good if you've worn yourself down, so take some "me time" regularly. Drink lots of water, eat healthfully, get exercise and rest...in other words, learn to put YOU first! WEBSITE NEWS: The search continues to find resources in all areas of the world. The resources pages are being updated, but we need MORE resources to help MORE people. If you are aware of a good support group in your area, or a terrific clinic, etc., please let us know. So far only 40 people worldwide have signed up for our first International Postpartum MeetUp day. I know it may take a while to build up enough people in an area to have a MeetUp (there must be 4 "yes, I'm attending" RSVPs in an area, or MeetUp cancels that month's meeting). Still, I hope you'll sign up and help spread the word about our monthly International Postpartum MeetUp. Just direct your browser to http://postpartum.meetup.com/ to learn more!
Our January contest is now open! A copy of Depression After
Childbirth by Katharina Dalton with Wendy M. Holton (1996, third
edition) is up for grabs. Simply email with your forum username. The drawing will
be held on January 18, 2003. Beginning in March, only those who have signed up for this newsletter will receive it. If you wish to continue receiving the Online PPD Support Group monthly newsletter, please subscribe at PPDSupportGroupUpdates-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or contact me to be added. That's all for January! Have a great month!
